Wildcats look to take next step in Pac-10
By Bud L. Ellis
Following a season during which they missed the Pac-10 championship by two games, the Arizona Wildcats are looking forward to another shot at coming up Roses in 2010.
The Wildcats enter 2010 with high hopes after going 8-5 overall and 6-3 in conference in 2009, finishing tied for second with Oregon State, two games behind conference champion Oregon.
The pursuit of the Pac-10 title and subsequent berth in the Rose Bowl begins with a trip east on Sept. 3 to face Toledo. After that road trip is done, the Wildcats settle back at home with four consecutive home games. It starts Sept. 11 against the Citadel, continues Sept. 18 against Iowa, Sept. 25 against California and, after the bye week, concludes Oct. 9 against Oregon State.
Arizona hits the road Oct. 16 to face Washington State. Back home the next week with Washington, the Wildcats then begin a stretch of three road games out of five to close the regular season. That run begins Oct. 30 at UCLA, and continues the next week at Stanford.
USC comes calling on Nov. 13. After another off week, Arizona travels to defending conference champ Oregon on Nov. 26, then plays host to Arizona State on Dec. 2 to end the regular season.
